Being a Sharefish in a Shelfish World

Sales Octane #58

Knowledge is powerful, transforming, enlightening, entertaining, and expressive.  Information is useless without the knowledge to move it.  Those who possess knowledge can move people's hearts, minds and souls in any direction.

The book by Oie Osterkamp moves me.

Being a Sharefish in a Selfish Worldis a fictional story with a non-fiction message.  The author describes this to mean that the characters are not real, but the story and their experiences are real life.  He challenges the reader to learn from these experiences and grow from them.

Underlying in the story is the simple fact that one act, no matter how small can change the world for many people.  Just one thing.  A simple smile, a handshake, a hug can create waves that can change a life.

The point is very simple in the book and in today's business environment.  We find it very hard to adapt to change.  It happens so rapidly.  How can I get on or get off.  People need people.

In your business you need others.  Stop acting as if you don't need the help or assistance of others.  We need to stop taling about how we need to do better and get to the place where we actually can do better.

Share your ideas, your inspirations, your secrets, your innovations.  We are not in competetion with each other.  How often do you cross the paths of others when prospecting, proposing, or selling?  Expressing ideas can open opportunities for expansion and growth.  People need people now!

I have read where many are stuck.  Many have reached a plateau.  Help make it just a stepping stone to the next mountain.  Teach others about your trials and triumphs in life, about purpose, and about significant meaning.  Teach others business skill sets, marketing, sales, time management, advertising.

Oie wrote the book for his new son Oren.  He wanted to share with his son the beauty of the world the wonder of the elements, and the unselfish acts of its people.  Be a Sharefish in a Selfish World!
