Sales Octane #85
I cannot believe that there are still today businesses without a company website or an individual webpage. The darling little girl in pig tails at the local Grocery store has a web page. The 13-year old boy who rakes my leaves has one and it is linked to his Facebook page. Our baby sitter in the next neighborhood also has a site.
These new entrepreneurs have only been just introduced to the business world and they understand the value of having an online site and presence. Yet we still have people and business today that do not have a web site.
You don't have to believe me, just ask the question next time you are in a networking event, a business workshop or seminar. I have and there are always a few slow hands that go up.
They ask what about traditional sales methods?
I think about Fiddler on the Roof and the song "Tradition". The momma and the poppa are losing their children due to the "new way". The changing times not are only available in our personal lives, but today you change or get out of the way.
If you don't have a website, you might as well hand a sign out from your door "Gone Fishing" but with all the time on your hands, you might as well do something with it.
Now that this issue is settled, you will still need to take the next step.
You will need to enhance you site with video, pictures, blog, and podcast. I you do not implement these features into your site you are doing a disservice to your business and your potential clients.
E-marketing is how you bundle your site together and get your message out there. You can spend less, control your message, and stand out from the competition. Your results are trackable, scalable, and can be tweaked to become a more powerful tool.
Every day prospects are clicking away, watching video, listening to mp3, e-mailing, and forwarding information, buying stuff, and researching businesses.
If you do not have a Web presence, to your prospect you do not exist.
WHERE ARE YOU? Only the Shadow knows and he's always in the dark!
